Canadian Multiculturalism

The Canadian Identity

This is a picture of the map of Canada but it is made up of many different countries flags. It represents that Canada is a multicultural nation and it is made up of people from all over the world. This image shows that the Canadian people accept and respect everyone. Canada is one of the most multicultural nations in the world and it is a large part of the Canadian identity. Multiculturalism demonstrates that Canadians are fair, friendly, respectful, peaceful and accepting of other people. Canadians respect other countries cultures, religions and beliefs. Our multiculturalism is recognized all over the world, Bill Clinton said this about Canada " In a world darkened by ethnic conflicts that tear nations apart, Canada stands as a model of how people of different cultures can live and work together in peace, prosperity, and mutual respect.". This picture represents that Canada has an identity of being a very multicultural country.

  1. Hi Riley,

You make a great point that Canada is one of the most multicultural nations in the world. Many people also agree that this multiculturalism is a significant part of the Canadian identity.

I love that you included a quotation. It provides solid proof to back up your statements.

I would be careful about generalizing, as not all Canadians are accepting of other people and some Canadians do not respect other cultures.

Thank you for including a title and labeling your post. You are off to an excellent start.

    Mrs. Le

  2. I agree with your blog because Canada has become a very multicultural country as you see many different ethnic views throughout the country. Also Canada is very accepting of different cultures as you don't see as much racism here as you would in other countries.

  3. I believe that Riley made a good point about Canada's identity because Canada is a very accepting nation to all cultures. You also support your statements very well and connected everything to the picture without getting side tracked.

    1. Cole, I agree that Canada, today, is accepting of people from various nations. Have you have witnessed or know of (not personally) of racism in Canada? I'm always wary when people claim that there isn't racism in Canada.

  4. I agree with this because there is much less racism in Canada then there was many years ago and people are much more understanding when it comes to different races and ethnic views. Although there are still many people who disagree with multiculturalism
